Coolant specif. including fresh water specif. as well as approved corrosion protec./antifreeze agents see "Speci-fications for Service Products" sheets 310 and 325.0 and 325.22) respectively

1) Water and corrosion/antifreeze agent in mixture ratio 50:50% by volume. Exceptions are engines 314, 352, 364 - refer to "Specifications for Service Products" on Page 310.

2) Not for engines 102, 601, 602. For these engines the corrosion/antifreeze agent specified in accordance with Page 325.0 is mandatory.

Notes

Caution! Open engine cooling system cap only at a coolant temperature below 90 °C to avoid scalding!

Check and correct coolant level only at a coolant temperature below 50 °C. Before correcting the coolant level, check antifreeze.
For replenishing, use only prepared coolant with 50 % by volume corrosion protection/antifreeze agent.

Turn cap (1) of engine cooling system to the 1st notch, release overpressure.
Continue turning to the 2nd notch, remove cap and check coolant level.

The cooling system is properly filled if the coolant reaches up to the mark in the filler neck or up to the maximum mark on the coolant expansion tank.
