Breakdown Management
The user can request technical assistance via a voice connection. With the consent of the user, vehicle data can be transmitted in order to provide quicker and more effective assistance. The connection to the service center is established by selecting the "MB contact" phone book entry or, if present, by pressing the breakdown assistance button (N70s12) or (in most cases) by pressing the MB-Info button (N70s13) in the overhead control panel control unit (OCP) (N70).
The service receptionist can perform a quick test.
Maintenance Management
If the terms of use are accepted, vehicle data is transmitted to the service partner as required. the service partner alerts the main user to the need for the maintenance service via the agreed medium.
If the terms of use were not accepted, a pop-up window appears in the vehicle prior to a calculated service date asking whether a connection to the Customer Assistance Center should be established.
It is possible to perform a quick test and workshop appointments can also be agreed via the Mercedes me portal.
Accident Management
Accident management supplements the emergency call system. If an emergency call has been triggered, a voice connection to the Mercedes-Benz Emergency Call Center is established. This can then forward the call to the Mercedes-Benz Customer Assistance Center at the customer's request. The Mercedes-Benz Customer Assistance Center may arrange e.g. for the vehicle to be towed to a Mercedes-Benz Service Center.
The service receptionist can perform a quick test.
Telediagnostics (only for model 447.8 at the moment)
The condition of certain wear parts, e.g. brakepads, is monitored in the vehicle. If it is necessary to replace any wear parts, relevant data is automatically transmitted in good time to the Mercedes-Benz Customer Assistance Center. The Customer Assistance Center transmits the data to the service partner that the main user stored as their preferred service partner. The service partner alerts the primary user to the need to replace wear parts via the agreed medium.
The service receptionist can perform a quick test.
Remote vehicle diagnostics
Remote diagnosis allows the service partner to query the status of the vehicle (quick test) according to requirements in connection with a repair order. The quick test provides an overview of the status of the vehicle and of any existing vehicle faults. This enables the workshop to offer better service and a more convenient workshop visit. In the event of a breakdown, remote vehicle diagnosis enables the Mercedes-Benz service technician to carry out a quick test on the spot, e.g. after roadside repairs.
