The new version of the immobilizer cannot be used in combination with the older version of the AAM. Whilst this combination may function initially, this may, however, lead to problems at temperatures of less than 0 °C.
The older version of the immobilizer functions with the new version of the AAM. However, due to limited warehouse stocks, the older version of the immobilizer should be reserved for use with the older version of the AAM.
When the supply of older versions of the immobilizer has been exhausted, the following will occur:
in vehicles which are equipped with the older version of the AAM and in which the replacement of the immobilizer is necessary, both the immobilizer and the AAM must be replaced. In addition, a new chassis number-specific non-reusable master key, which programs the replaced AAM and which corresponds to the existing coding of the ME-SFI control module, must be ordered.
The original master key no longer functions after the replaced AAM has been programmed, and must therefore be destroyed.
