Protective connector | plug into diagnostic socket to avoid engine starting when cranking with starter motor. |
Suction hose (1) and pressure hose (2) | pinch with clamp. |
Suction hose (1) and pressure hose (2) | detach, attach, operate starter until no more fuel flows out of fuel pump. |
Vacuum tester | attach to suction connection of fuel pump, start until vacuum no longer rises, take reading and check drop in vacuum. |
Vacuum tester | attach to pressure connection of fuel pump, start until pressure no longer rises, take reading and check pressure drop. |
Delivery | check. Operate starter for 20 seconds and check delivery; replace fuel pump if necessary. |
