Design and mode of operation of paintwork and corrosion protection:
The human eye first starts to notice color schemes, then shape and function.
It goes without saying that this also applies to the same degree to the paintwork of the vehicle body and its detachable parts.
In addition to meeting the aesthetic demands for a customized design of the vehicle in terms of the shade and effect of the color, the overall vehicle paintwork must also fulfill a plethora of functional tasks.
These include in particular protection against mechanical, chemical and biological environmental influences as well as corrosion protection of the vehicle body over the entire period of use of the vehicle.
The prerequisite for fulfilling these functions is flawless paintwork – both in the series production process as well as in the repair workshops – and proper care of the paintwork structure.
Corrosion protection measures should ensure the appearance and operational readiness of components for the service life of the vehicle under the extremely different climatic/load conditions found worldwide.
The diagram above shows the basic production sequence of a painting operation.
The process can be changed at any time due to new process and painting techniques and new paint materials.
