A mobile phone or telephone module with Bluetooth® (SAP profile) (A34/1) (with CODE 379 (Telephone module with Bluetooth SAP)) is connected to the head unit (A26/17) via Bluetooth®.

Additional telematics services in general

The telematics services of the emergency call system are realized via a mobile radio connection to the Service Center. The head unit sends and receives the mobile phone signals.

The head unit sends the signals to one of the following components:

Bluetooth® antenna (A2/91)

Telephone module with Bluetooth® (SAP) (with code 379 (Telephone module with Bluetooth SAP)) or mobile phone (except code 379 (Telephone module with Bluetooth SAP))

On vehicles with code 379 (Telephone module with Bluetooth SAP), the telephone module with Bluetooth® (SAP) sends the signals as follows:

Mobile phone contact plate (X237/1)

Telephone antenna splitter (A2/109)

Left telephone antenna (A2/102) or right telephone antenna (A2/103)

Mercedes-Benz Service Center

On vehicles except code 379 (Telephone module with Bluetooth SAP) and with code 386 (Comfort telephony), the mobile phone sends the signals as follows:

Mobile phone contact plate (X237/1)

Cellular telephone system antenna amplifier/compensator (A28/15)

Telephone antenna splitter

Left telephone antenna or right telephone antenna

Mercedes-Benz Service Center

On vehicles except CODE 379 (Telephone module with Bluetooth SAP) and except CODE 386 (Comfort telephony) the mobile phone sends the signals directly to the mobile telephone network.

In addition to the emergency call, the following services are possible:

Towing service

Roadside assistance

Service and maintenance

Operation via the buttons of the overhead control panel:

The Mercedes-Benz Customer Center is available around the clock for roadside assistance, making appointments or similar. Contact is made at the press of a button.

The towing service and breakdown assistance and the service and maintenance are operated via the breakdown assistance button (N70s12) or the MB-Info button (N70s13) in the overhead control panel.

The signals from the breakdown assistance button and the MB-Info button are sent as follows:

Overhead control panel control unit (N70)

Roof LIN (LIN B13)

Front SAM control unit (N10/6)

Interior CAN (CAN B)

Electronic ignition lock control unit (N73)

User interface CAN (CAN HMI)

Head unit

Operation is carried out via the head unit:

With all services, vehicle data is transmitted to the Service Center. The services towing service, breakdown assistance and some service and maintenance functions can be used when the customer selects the telephone book entry "MB Contact" via the audio equipment. The head unit then establishes a voice connection to the Service Center and sends vehicle data.

Various data is sent:

Vehicle identification number

Total distance

Vehicle position

Service code (only if maintenance required)

Towing service and breakdown assistance:

The Mercedes-Benz Contact Accident Aid supplements the Mercedes-Benz emergency call system. If an emergency call to the Mercedes-Benz Emergency Call Center was triggered following an accident, a voice connection to a service receptionist in the Service Center is established. Depending on the accident situation, the service receptionist may recommend forwarding the call to the Mercedes-Benz Contact Accident Aid. The towing of the vehicle to a Mercedes-Benz Service Support Point can thereby be initiated.

The voice connection to the Mercedes-Benz Emergency Call Center is terminated and the call is automatically forwarded to the Mercedes-Benz Contact Accident Aid. The vehicle data is transferred as with the Mercedes-Benz Contact as agreed. An employee of the Mercedes-Benz Contact Accident Aid then organizes the towing of the vehicle via Mercedes-Benz Service24h to a Mercedes-Benz Service Support Point.

Service and maintenance

In order to receive the best possible support in the event that maintenance of the vehicle is required, you can make a service appointment directly with the Mercedes-Benz Customer Center. If a maintenance message appears in the instrument cluster, you also see a message in the Audio/COMAND display. This actively points out the service requirement and enables direct contact with the Mercedes-Benz Customer Center. You see the message: "Service <Ser‐ vice_name> due soon: Would you like to make a workshop appointment?"

You can choose between:

Call (service appointment is made)

Later (window appears again after a certain period)

No (window is hidden and does not appear again for this required maintenance)
