In combination with the Telligent brake system (BS) stability control (SR) increases driving safety in critical driving situations.
While driving stability control (SR) detects threatening instabilities, which can lead to skidding, breakaway, jackknifing or tipping over of the semitrailer/tractor combination and counteracts these automatically within the framework of physical limits
by specific wheel by wheel interventions in the brake system of the tractor vehicle,
by actuating the trailer brake system or
by influencing the engine torque.
The load condition of the semitrailer/tractor combination or the road surface condition have no influence on the function of stability control (SR).
The main components of stability control (SR)
the steering wheel angle sensor (B68) and
the vehicle dynamics control (FDR) control unit (A74).
The components of stability control (SR) are networked with the brake control (BS) control unit for signal exchange via the brake CAN.
Stability control (SR) is effective as of a speed
>10 km/h. When reversing or if the Telligent brake system (BS) is defective the stability control (SR) is switched off.
The function of stability control (SR) can be switched off and on manually with the SR shutoff switch (S158).
When the stability control (SR) is switched off manually the ASRSR indicator lamp flashes (P2h10) in the instrument (INS).
