Location
The charger control unit is located in the middle in the engine compartment.
Task
General
The charger control unit converts 100 to 380 V alternating stress of current network feed over the charger feed socket (X58/23) into 170 to 380 V high voltage direct voltage.
The high voltage direct voltage serves to charge the high-voltage battery (G5).
CAN bus
The charger control unit is attached via the electric drive CAN (CAN EL) to the CAN network of the vehicle and exchanges data with other control units.
Input and output signals
Input signals are read in, evaluated and the respective output signals output by the charger control unit.
These are sub-divided as follows:
Reading in of sensors and signals
Evaluation of input factors
Actuation of components
Reading in of sensors and signals
These input factors are read in via the following connections:
Direct line

Body
The charger control unit consists of a metal housing with four plug couplings and a inner lying control unit.
Power supply
The charger control unit is supplied by "circuit 30" with voltage.
