Remove/install AC pipe assembly

Remove/install



When working on the refrigerant circuit, seal all openings with suitable caps in order to prevent unnecessary penetration by air humidity and dirt.

All sealing rings must be replaced and moistened with compressor oil.

Discharge air conditioning system

 Installation: Refill air conditioning system and check for proper operation and check for leaks.

Remove condenser

Remove radiator

Unscrew nut (5), remove expansion valve from retaining panel of suction line (6) and the high pressure line (4)



Unscrew screw/bolt (7) on fluid reservoir (8)

Detach connector on pressure switch

 Remove/install pressure switch for refrigerant compressor.

Remove refrigerant line (9) at fluid reservoir (8)

Remove suction line (6) from fluid reservoir (8)

Unscrew mounting bolt (10) of refrigerant lines (6) and (4) on transmission

Remove pressure hose (4) on AC compressor (2)



Unscrew mounting bolt of refrigerant line (1) to intake manifold (11)

Remove refrigerant line (1) to AC compressor (2)



Unscrew bolt (12) between refrigerant line (6) and pressure line for power steering



Remove refrigerant lines (1), (4) and (6)

Replace fluid reservoir (8)

 Whenever any work is carried out on the air conditioning system, the fluid reservoir must be replaced.

 Observe refrigerant refill quantity when replacing the fluid reservoir.

Install in the reverse order

 Observe oil refill quantity when replacing refrigerant lines.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Check air conditioning for proper operation

 Run engine at idling speed for about 4 minutes and check all the component functions which are of relevance for proper operation of the air conditioning system.
