Remove

Remove ball socket

Unscrew jam nut (4)

Remove clamp (1) and spring clamp (2)

Detach boot (3) from steering gear and tie rod

 Installation: Before installation of the boots (3), check the tie rod ball joints and the toothed rack for corrosion and soiling, replace steering gear if necessary.



Install

Slide on boot (3) with clamp (1)

 For easy assembly, rub toothed rack grease into the interior of the boot.

Secure boot (3) with clamp (1)

Slide spring clamp (2) onto the tie rod

 The spring clamp (2) is only fastened to the boot (3) after toe adjustment.

Screw on jam nut (4)
