Unscrew nut (1)

Remove heat shield from ball head (2)

with code IT6 (4.6-tonner)

Counterhold tie rod (4) and loosen jam nut (3)

Pull ball head (2) off steering arm

 Puller

Unscrew ball head (2) from tie rod (4)



Install

Screw ball head (2) onto tie rod (4)

 Only tighten the jam nut (3) after checking and adjusting the toe.

 Lock nut at ball head

Remove grease from conical joint and clean contact surfaces on steering arm (arrows)

Press ball head (2) firmly into cone on steering arm (arrows)

Attach heat shield to ball head (2)

Model 909
with code IT6 (4.6-tonner)

 Ensure correct seating.

Screw on nut (1) of ball head (2) securely

 Replace the nut (1).
