| Check | ||
1 | Determine rear axle load of vehicle in ready-to-drive condition by weighing | Test balance
2 | Note down test values specified on ALB plate (6) | The ALB plate (6) is located on the inside of the driver door.
3 | Check control linkage (7) and operating lever (8) for ease of movement and check that joints are play-free
4 | Check length of control linkage (7) and operating lever (8) | For information, refer to ALB plate (6).
If this is not the case | |||
| |||
Adjust length of control linkage (7) and operating lever (8).
Do not adjust control linkage (7) when adjusting pressure.
5 | Connect manometer to test connection upstream of ALB controller (5) | The uncontrolled brake pressure is to be taken from the ALB plate (6).
6 | Connect manometer to test connections (1, 2, 3, 4)
7 | Pressurize compressed-air system up to cutoff pressure | Before fully depressing the brake pedal each time, the compressed-air system must be filled until the shutoff pressure is reached.
8 | Fully depress brake pedal | The controlled circuit manometer must come to a stop within the specified pressure range. For permissible values including tolerance, see the adjusting automatic load-dependent brake diagram on the ALB plate (6). In the event of great deviation in pressure, the ALB controller must be adjusted.
Adjust | |||
9 | Release clamp screw (9) on operating lever (8) | Brake must be disengaged.
10 | Rotate the shaft (10) until the required set value is reached on the manometer. | If the pressure is too low or too high, the shaft (10) must be turned clockwise or counterclockwise. Do not turn the shaft (10) more than 90°.
11 | Tighten clamp screw (9) and repeat braking procedure | Clamp screw, ALB controller
12 | Check adjusting automatic load-dependent brake system setting again, if necessary set again
13 | Detach manometer | ||
14 | Check brake system for leaks and proper function |
