Remove/install

Secure vehicle against rolling

Depressurize air brake system

Pull vent valve on compressed-air reservoir.

Clean connections of compressed air lines (2, 3) on the parking brake valve (1)

Mark compressed air lines (2, 3) relevant to each connecting point on the parking brake valve (1)

Detach electrical lines (6, 7) on
the pressure sensor (5)

Unscrew pressure sensor (5) and detach compressed air line (2)

Use suitable plugs to seal ring connection of
compressed air line (2) and connection on parking brake valve (1).

Installation: Replace sealing rings. Note marking of compressed air line (2).

Detach compressed air line (3) from parking brake valve (1)

Use suitable plugs to seal ring connection of
compressed air line (3) and connection on parking brake valve (1).

Installation: Replace sealing rings. Note marking of compressed air line (3).

Remove bleed hose (8) on parking brake valve (1)

Remove parking brake valve (1) from instrument panel support (9)

The parking brake valve (1) is fastened in place using six bolts onto the instrument panel support (9).

Install in the reverse order

Danger!

Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Charge air brake system

Allow the engine to run until the operating pressure of the air brake system is reached.

If the pressure regulator fails to stop filling the air brake system after reaching the operating pressure:

Check shutoff pressure of pressure regulator, adjust if necessary.
