Checking and adjusting pressure regulator cutoff pressure

 Danger!

Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Secure vehicle against rolling

Depressurize air brake system

 Pull vent valve on compressed-air reservoir.

Remove compressed air line (2) from air drier (1)

Fit connector (5) with seal ring (3) and pressure gauge (6) onto air drier (1)



Start engine to fill the air brake system and allow it to run

Read off shutoff pressure on the pressure gauge (6)

 If the pressure regulator shuts off the air brake system filling process.

Turn off engine

Adjust

Set shutoff pressure using adjustment screw (7)

Perform only if the shutoff pressure value does not correspond with the specified value.

Engage the parking brake several times in succession

 To enable the pressure of the air brake system to drop below the set value again.

Start engine and let it run until the pressure regulator shuts off, and while doing so read off the new shutoff pressure settings on the pressure gauge (6)

 If necessary, the setting should be repeated until the shutoff pressure is OK.

Remove the pressure gauge (6) and connector (5) with seal ring (3) on the air drier (1)

Install compressed air line (2) onto air drier (1)

 Replace sealing rings (3).
