Remove

Remove brake drum (1) at front

Only when checking brake drums (1) and brake linings (2) at front axle.

Remove brake drum (1) at rear

Only when checking brake drums (1) and brake linings (2) at rear axle.

Check

3

Check brake drum (1) for heat cracking, score marks, and wear

 Installation: Observe service limit.

Always remove both brake drums (1) of an axle.

If service limit is exceeded, install new brake drum (1) with new brake linings (2).

Remove/install brake linings

Measure lining thickness of the brake linings (2).

 Installation: If thickness is less than service limit of brake linings (B), install new brake linings (2).
