Remove propeller shaft

Mark flexible couplings (12) relative to propeller shaft

Apply colored identification for position of flexible couplings (12) relative to propeller shaft (arrows), to enable the factory installation positions to be set again when installing.

Remove flexible couplings (12)

12 Loosen fitted sleeves on flexible couplings.

If the fitted sleeves are jammed:

Prepare drift for loosening fitted sleeves in flexible couplings.

Separate front and rear halves of propeller shaft at slide connection

Installation: Coat splined profile with Molykote grease.

Long-life grease (NLGI grade 2)

Installation: Connect propeller shaft halves.

Check centering sleeves (10) in front and rear halves of propeller shaft

If the sealing lip in the centering sleeve is worn or damaged, the centering sleeve can be replaced separately:

Remove centering sleeve.

Check flexible couplings for damage, replace if necessary.

Fill cavities of both centering sleeves (10) with grease

Install in the reverse order

Check values for propeller shaft alignment sleeve
