Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between the columns of the lifting platform and position the four support plates at the lifting platform support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Remove rear reinforcement bridge (35)

 On models 220.074 /174 /179 and model 215.379 the spacers are located under the rear reinforcement bridge (35).



 The flex disk remains on the front propeller shaft (1).

 Installation: Attach front propeller shaft (1) to transmission.

Detach rear propeller shaft (2) from rear axle center assembly

 The flex disk remains on the rear propeller shaft (2).

 Installation: Attach rear propeller shaft (2) to rear axle center assembly.

Loosen fitting sleeves on flexible couplings.

Remove bolts of propeller shaft intermediate bearing (7)

 Installation: Only tighten bolts by hand.

Pull propeller shaft from centering pins on transmission and rear axle, then extract to the rear

 Installation: Pack the cavities in the two centering sleeves with multipurpose grease in the case of rubber bearing bushings or compound bearing bushings.

Separate front propeller shaft (1) and rear propeller shaft (2) if necessary at the sliding connection

 Installation: Assemble the driveshaft.

Checking

Check propeller shaft intermediate bearing (7) for wear.

Replace if necessary: 

Remove/install propeller shaft intermediate bearing and replace grooved ball bearing

Check flex disk on front propeller shaft (1) and rear propeller shaft (2) for wear

Check vibration damper (20) of rear propeller shaft (2) for wear

 If necessary, replace flex disk or vibration damper (20). Before removing, identify vibration damper (20) relative to three- or four-arm flange.
