Remove propeller shaft

Label front and rear propeller shaft (12) in relation to three or four-arm flange (arrows) and remove

 Check flexible coupling for damage, replace if necessary.



Remove front and rear flexible coupling (12)

Remove vibration damper: models 220.028/128 (20) from the rear propeller shaft (2)

Model 220.028/128

 Installation: Fit vibration damper: models 220.028/128 (20) and driveshaft as per the identification applied.

Separate front propeller shaft (1) and rear propeller shaft (2) at sliding connection

 Installation: Assemble the driveshaft.

Coat splined profile with Molykote grease.



Long-life grease (NLGI grade 2)

Checking

Check centering sleeve (10) of front propeller shaft (1) and rear propeller shaft (2)

 If the lip in the centering sleeve (10) is worn or damaged the centering sleeve (10) can be replaced individually.

Remove centering sleeve (10)

If necessary, after testing

Fill cavities of both centering sleeves with grease


