Measure

Drive vehicle onto test site and secure by applying parking brake

 The measuring system must be approved by Mercedes-Benz.

Preconditions and checks for wheel alignment check performed

On vehicles without code (487) Active Body Control (ABC), the wheel alignment check must not be performed if the engine is hot.
Air suspension struts which have been warmed up by engine heat can influence the vehicle level.

Raise and lower the vehicle level again; to do this, operate the switch on the center console

 Raising and lowering the vehicle reduces play in the suspension.

Deactivate easy entry/exit feature

Code 275 (Memory package (driver seat, steering column, mirrors))


Otherwise the driver seat and steering wheel move into a different position if the driver door is opened or closed for example.
The driver seat can be damaged when the brake pedal jack is installed .

 The system is switched off via the buttons on the steering wheel in the "Comfort" menu of the multifunction display.

Using the adapter, install the brake pedal retaining tool between the pedal and the driver seat


Protect the brake pedal and driver seat.
The brake pedal and/or driver seat can otherwise be damaged.

Move selector lever to position "P"

Open window on driver door and close driver door

 Preparations for checking steering lock. The vehicle must not be loaded again.

Switch off ignition

Unlock turnplates and sliding platforms

Check vehicle level at front and rear axle with electronic inclinometer, adjust if necessary

 Depending on the measurement result the vehicle level must be adjusted at the front and rear axle.

Perform initial measurement

Checking rear axle camber

 The camber on the rear axle is not adjustable.

 Depending on the measurement result the vehicle level must be adjusted at the front and rear axle.

Adjust rear-axle toe

Camber and caster at front axle
