Remove valve element from valve

Remove bonded wheel balance weights using removal tool


Do not use hard, pointed or sharp-edged tools
to avoid damaging the surface of the disk wheel.

Move tire mounting device to disassembly position


To prevent damage,
Do not roll up or throw CSR (5) and use clean work bases.


To prevent damage, perform work on tires and CSR (5) using the prescribed tools only.
Observe manufacturer's operating instructions.

 To do so, move upper assembly rollers to basic position. Move and lock the lower dismantling roller to the basic position.
Protect CSR (5) from damage and soiling.



Check

Check condition of plastic guard (1) on removal head, replace if necessary

Clamp disk wheel on tire mounting device

Place wheel protection (4) onto threaded rod of tire mounting device

Detach tire with installed CSR (5) from disk wheel

Remove CSR (5) from tire; to do so, cut out flank of tire with tire blade

When disposing of tire

 The CSR (5) can be used again.

Apply mounting paste to tire bead (6)

When reusing tires and CSR (5) separately

Tilt CSR (5) through 90° and remove from tire

Check

Check CSR (5) and tire

 Check CSR (5) for damage and out-of-roundness. Check plastic flanks of CSR (5) for wear (abrasion). Check tire for cord points.

Check condition of disk wheel

Check TPM wheel sensor (A69/1 to A69/5), valve body (3) and shoulder seal (3s, only up to 08/2004) in installed condition for damage

With code (475) tire pressure monitor


Do not remove TPM wheel sensor (A69/1 to A69/5). Do not retighten screw (3a) and union nut (2).
Otherwise the TPM wheel sensor (A69/1 to A69/5) will be damaged.

 Replace all components if the screw (3a) or union nut (2) of the TPM wheel sensor (A69/1 to A69/5) is visibly loose.

Replace TPM wheel sensor (A69/1 to A69/5) if there is visible damage:



Remove/install tire pressure sensor.

When doing so, observe tightening torque values for different gasket versions:



Seal of valve body changed.



Assemble

Move tire mounting device to assembly position

 To do so, move upper assembly rollers to basic position. Move and lock the lower dismantling roller to the basic position.

Mount tire with installed CSR (5)

Use assembly paste sparsely.
Otherwise the tire may move on the disk wheel with a high vehicle acceleration.

 Observe the running direction of the tire and align match points of the tire and disk wheel with each other.

Screw valve element into valve

Inflate tire and correct tire pressure

 See tire pressure label in the vehicle's fuel filler flap.

Remove wheel and tire assembly from tire mounting device


Place wheel protection (4) onto threaded rod of tire mounting device.
Otherwise the disk wheel will be damaged.

Remove assembly paste from wheel and tire assembly

Balance wheel

 The CSR (5) is delivered balanced.
