Removing
1 Park vehicle on a level surface above pit.
Perform checks and adjustments on unloaded vehicles only.
2 Completely lower liftable trailing axle.
3 Detach ground line from battery or deactivate power supply using battery disconnect switch.

Checking
4 Check play (B) between lift bellow brackets (3) and axle tube (4).
Measure play (B) at lowest gap in each case.
The play (B) at both lift bellow brackets (3) must be equal.
If the given values are not reached, adjust play (B).

Adjust
5 Release nuts (2), adjust play (B) with nuts (1) and then tighten nuts (2) again.
The play (B) on both lift bellow brackets (3) must be identical.
6 Tighten nuts (1), .
7 Check excess thread lengths (A) on lift bellow brackets (3), if necessary cut off excess thread lengths.

Install
8 Connect ground line to battery or activate power supply with battery disconnect switch.
9 Start engine and bring compressed air system up to operating pressure.
10 If the play (B) was adjusted:
Raise and lower liftable trailing axle several times in succession to adapt the components.
Always check that the nuts (1) are securely tightened before actuating the lifting device. Loose nuts (1) may result in damage to the lift bellows.
11 Check lifting device for signs of leaks.
