Pull out rear axle shaft
1 Use a suitable tool (e.g. screwdriver, assembly lever), to pry rear axle shaft (37) out of the rear axle center assembly.
P35.31-2182-01
If while pushing out the rear axle shaft (37) the protective ring (37f) on the rear axle center assembly is bent, then it has to be returned to its original shape again before installation of the rear axle shaft (37), as otherwise a grinding noise may develop between the protective ring (37f) and the rear axle shaft (37).
Do not damage the radial sealing ring when pressing out the rear axle shaft (37). Rear axle shafts (37) with defective joints or boots must be replaced.
P35.30-2021-01
Press in rear axle shaft
2 Press in rear axle shaft (37) until the circlip (37g) noticeably latches into place.
When pressing the rear axle shaft (37) into the rear axle center assembly, do not damage the radial sealing ring. The joint ring (37c) must close flush with the rear axle housing.
In order to safeguard functionality align the joint ring horizontally so that the splined profile does not tilt when being inserted.
