2 | Remove pinion housing with drive pinion (1) | After unscrewing the bolts, loosen the pinion housing with drive pinion (1) if necessary by applying some blows with a rubber mallet or plastic mallet. | |

4 | Determine thickness of shims to be installed (2) | Only carry out if drive pinion and ring gear are replaced. | |
The new drive pinion and new ring gear are identified with an identical number which indicates the matching. | |||

5 | Clean sealing surfaces (3, 4) and shims (2) to be installed | ||

6 | Coat sealing surfaces (3, 4) with sealant | ||
7 | Coat shims (2) with sealant | Ensure that all the shims (2) are exactly opposite one another. The respective largest bores must align with each other (2). | |
