Attach engine lifting device

Installing, removing

1

Switch off engine and turn the key in the EIS [EZS] control unit into position "0"

 Vehicles with Keyless-Go Code 889: press Start/Stop button repeatedly until ignition is switched off.

Open engine hood and raise to vertical position

Remove air filter housing

Remove front engine cover

Preassemble engine hoist (01) as per the manufacturer's specifications and mount on the fender flanges and radiator crossmember

 Observe the manufacturer's assembly specifications and safety information.

Adjust engine lifting device (01) and tighten bolted connection

Mount shackle (1) on the front motor suspension lugs

Fit the lifting devices (2) with zero clearance; to do this, tighten the tensioning bolts (3)

 Do not subject the front engine mounts to tension otherwise they will be damaged.

Remove center bottom section of soundproofing

Detach front engine mounts from front axle carrier

Raise the engine by tightening the tensioning bolts (3)

If necessary.

Remove in reverse order
