Remove/install

The reverse gear can only be removed if the rear transmission housing is removed. The reverse gear must be inserted into the recess before installation of the rear transmission housing.

1 Remove retaining plate.

Installation: Tighten bolt to specified torque .

2 Screw threaded insert into reverse idler shaft.

3 Fit extractor to threaded insert and pull out reverse idler shaft.

Installation: The reverse idler shaft must only be driven into the transmission far enough that the retaining plate can be installed, otherwise the transmission can be damaged.

Installation:

Using alignment punch align the reverse gear, needle roller bearing and thrust plates (if installed).

Align position of reverse idler shaft groove to retaining plate.

Install reverse idler shaft far enough that the retaining plate can be installed.

4 Press reverse gear together with bush, needle roller bearings and thrust plates (if installed) sideways out of rear transmission housing.

Installation:

The collar on the reverse gear must face in the direction of the input shaft.

For transmission 714.69:

Grease the thrust plates and ensure that the thrust plate tabs are located in the notches of the rear transmission housing.

5 Install in the reverse order.
