15 | Remove main shaft (15) and turn through 180°. | Helper required.
16 | Position puller on 1st gear gearwheel (23) and remove parts assembly. | The parts assembly is comprised of the following parts:
Puller without spindle
Hydraulic spindle | |||
Hand pump | |||
17 | Remove needle bearings (20, 24).
18 | Remove retaining ring (25).
19 | Remove sliding sleeve (26).
20 | Remove synchronizer body (27).
21 | Remove 2nd gear gearwheel (28).
22 | Remove needle bearing (29).
| Assemble | ||
23 | Coat needle bearing (29) with clean transmission oil and slide onto main shaft (15).
24 | Coat thrust collar of 2nd gear gearwheel (28) with clean transmission oil and slide onto main shaft (15).
25 | Install synchronizer body (27). | The long collar of the synchronizer body (27) must point towards the 2nd gear gearwheel (28).
26 | Install retaining ring (25).
27 | Measure end play of retaining ring (25) using feeler gauge. | Axial play of main shaft retaining rings
If the end play lies outside the tolerance,
| |||
install retaining ring (25) of appropriate material thickness.
28 | Install sliding sleeve (26).
29 | Coat needle bearing (24) with clean transmission oil and slide onto main shaft (15).
30 | Coat thrust collar of 1st gear gearwheel (23) with clean transmission oil and slide onto main shaft (15).
31 | Heat spacer ring (22) to approx. 100 °C and slide onto main shaft (15).
32 | Heat bearing bushing (21) to approx. 140 °C, slide on and reposition up to contact surface.
33 | Coat needle bearing (20) with clean transmission oil and slide onto main shaft (15).
34 | Coat thrust collar of reverse gear gearwheel (19) with clean transmission oil and slide onto main shaft (15).
35 | Insert shift fork into sliding sleeve (18) and install sliding sleeve (18). | Observe installation position of sliding sleeve (18); the rounded teeth point upward.
36 | Slide synchronizer body (17) onto main shaft (15).
37 | Heat tapered roller bearing (16) to approx. 140 °C, slide on and reposition up to contact surface.
38 | Remove main shaft (15) and turn through 180°. | Fasten output flange securely onto suitable base, e.g. bolted to a workbench.
