Remove and install front section of transmission housing

2	Remove the transmission	Model 684.49

3	Remove shift mechanism	Except ZF S5-42 transmission	AR26.60-I-0001B
		ZF S5-42 transmission only	AR26.60-I-0001C
4	Remove guide tube		AR26.40-I-0002B
5	Remove screw plugs (1) with sealing rings (2).
6	Remove push springs (3) and index bolts (4) with magnetic stud
7	Take off cap (9) and remove bolt (10) with washer (11) from reverse gear shaft
8	Install holder at output flange		*710589016300
9	Drive out straight pins (7) in direction of output up to separating surface of rear section of transmission housing (5).	Do not compress straight pins (7) otherwise rear section of transmission housing (5) may crack or fracture.
10	Undo bolts (6) then remove front section of transmission housing (12)
	Install
11	Drive in straight pins (7).	 Drive cylindrical pin (7) in carefully, as otherwise the rear section of the transmission housing (5) may break.
12	Clean separating surfaces of front section of transmission housing (12) and rear section of transmission housing (5).
13	Apply sealant to contact surfaces of front section of transmission housing (12) and rear section of transmission housing (5)	 Time from applying sealing compound to screwing on front section of transmission housing (12) and rear section of transmission housing (5) must not exceed 15 minutes.	*BR00.45-Z-1009-01A
14	Mount front section of transmission housing (12) and tighten bolts (6)	 Tighten the bolts (6) diagonally and evenly.

15	Tighten bolt (10)	 Install new washer (11).

16	Insert cap (9) into the bolt (10)	 Replace the cap (9).
17	Detach support plate at output flange		*710589016300
18	Insert push springs (3), index bolt (4) and seal rings (2), then tighten screw plugs (1)	 Replace sealing rings (2).

19	Install guide tube		AR26.40-I-0002B
20	Install shift linkage.	except ZF S5-42 transmission	AR26.60-I-0001B
		ZF S5-42 transmission only	AR26.60-I-0001C
21	Install transmission	Model 684.49
		Model 684.482	AR26.10-I-0020B
22	Fill with transmission oil	Model 684.49
		Model 684.482	AP26.00-I-2601B
