Remove

Remove splitter box cylinder (7).

Remove screw plug(1).

 The screw plug (1) is spring loaded!

Remove springs (2) and catch bolt (3).

Remove bearing pins (4).

Clean and recut threads of bearing pins (4) in transmission housing front section.

Unhook splitter box shift fork (11) from shift rod (9).

 To unhook the splitter box shift fork (11), rotate the shift rod (9) through 180°.

Remove shift rod (9) with shift piston of splitter box (10) from transmission housing front section.

Clamp shift rod (9) in a vise.

 Clamp the ungalvanized part of the shift rod (9) in a vise and use protective jaws.

Detach shift piston of splitter box (10) from shift rod (9).

 Puller

Remove radial shaft sealing ring and pilot bushing from shift rod (9) of splitter box.



Clean

Clean and recut thread of shift rod (9).



Install

Install new radial shaft sealing ring and new pilot bushing for shift rod (9) of splitter box.



Determine size of shim for shift piston of splitter box (10).

Attach new shift piston of splitter box (10) to shift rod (9).

Coat shift piston of splitter box (10) with grease.

Install shift rod (9) with shift piston of splitter box (10) in transmission housing front section.

 Observe installation position. The notches for the catch bolt (3) point upward.

Hook splitter box shift fork (11) into shift rod (9).

Install new bearing pins (4).

Install catch bolt (3) and springs (2).

Screw in screw plug (1).

 Splitter group shift rod lock to transmission housing

Install splitter box cylinder (7).
