Replace guide bearing (3) in flywheel (4)

Visually inspect clutch friction surface on clutch plate (at engine end) (5)

In event of wear, scorch marks, score marks or tears



Replace clutch plate (at engine end) (5) and repair or replace clutch pressure plate unit (1), to do so, conduct operation steps 8 and 9.

Clean the profile grooves of clutch plate (5) at engine end and check movability on the hub profile of transmission input shaft


The nickel plated hub surface of the clutch plate (5) (at engine end) may not be greased.
This is to avoid any jamming of the clutch plate (at engine end) (5).

 The clutch plate (at engine end) (5) must slide easily over the transmission input shaft, but the play should not be too large.

If the clutch plate (at engine end) (5) exhibits an excessively large play.



Replace clutch plate (at engine end) (5) and repair or replace clutch pressure plate unit (1), to do so, conduct operation steps 8 and 9.

Check guide for clutch plate (at transmission end) (7) on clutch plate (at engine end) (5)

If damaged or worn



Repair or replace clutch pressure plate unit (1), to do so conduct operation steps 8 and 9.

Check clutch release bearing (2) on clutch pressure plate unit (1)

In event of sluggishness or wear



Replace clutch pressure plate unit (1) or

repair, to do so conduct operation steps 8 and 9.
