Disconnect the battery

Risk of injury to skin and eyes from scalding from hot coolant which splashes out. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.

Do not open the cooling system unless the coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and allow the pressure to release. Do not pour coolant into containers for drinks.

Wear protective gloves, protective clothes, and eye protection.

Drain the coolant

Empty air conditioning system

with air conditioning (code H06)

Remove front grille (2)

Remove upper cross member (1)

with air conditioning (code H06)

Remove coolant pipe (4, 5 and 7) from radiator (6)


 Check state of coolant pipes and clamps, replace if appropriate

Disconnect the automatic oil pipes (9) in the radiator (6)

with automatic gearbox (code G40)
 Collect spilt gearbox oil



Disconnect fan plugs (M34.1 and M34.2)

Disconnect plugs (B21.1 and B21.2)

with air conditioning (code H06)

Disconnect plugs (B77.1)

with air conditioning (code H06)

Remove coolant pipes (10) from condenser

with air conditioning (code H06)

Extract radiator with condenser upwards

 Assembly: Insert the radiator (6) pivots (arrows) in the relevant housing holes of the accessory-holder (11)

Assembly in reverse order

Check oil level in automatic gearbox and correct if appropriate

with automatic gearbox (code G40)
