 	Remove/install
1	Disconnect ground lead from battery.	 See information from body manufacturer.
2	Remove the clamping device for the poly-V belt.		AR13.25-G-3200DD
3	Remove air intake hose (3).
4	Release oil filter cover (6) with oil filter element (13).	 When this is released, engine oil runs from the oil filter housing (5) and oil filter element (13) back into the oil pan.

5	Remove bracket (9).	 Do not remove charge air pipes (1, 2).
		 Bracket to coolant pump	*BA20.10-N-1005-01L
6.1	Disconnect electrical connector at pressure and temperature sensor (12).	For engine 902.9, engine 904.9 up to engine end number 301576, engine 906.9 up to engine end number 301561, engine 926.9 up to engine end number 301561
6.2	Disconnect electrical connector on oil pressure sensor.	For engine 900.9, engine 904.9 as of engine end number 301577, engine 906.9 as of engine end number 301562, engine 924.9, engine 926.9 as of engine end number 301562
7	Remove oil pressure sensor.	Only for engine 900.9, engine 904.9 as of engine end number 301577, engine 906.9 as of engine end number 301562, engine 924.9, engine 926.9 as of engine end number 301562.
		 Counterhold screw plug and collect engine oil that flows out in a suitable container.
		 Installation: Replace sealing ring.

8	Remove bracket (10).	Only if alternator (4) is installed.
		 For engine 900.9, 902.9, 904.9, 906.9, 924.9, 925.9, 926.9Bolt, alternator bracket to oil filter	*BA15.40-N-1001-01S
		 For engine 900.9, 902.9, 904.9, 906.9, 924.9, 925.9, 926.9Bolt, alternator to bracket	*BA15.40-N-1003-01S
9	Loosen alternator (4) on alternator carrier (8) and swing to one side.	Only if alternator (4) is installed.
		 For engine 900.9, 902.9, 904.9, 906.9, 924.9, 925.9, 926.9Nut, alternator to support	*BA15.40-N-1002-01S
10	Remove oil pressure line (11) at oil filter housing (5).	 Banjo bolt, oil pressure line to oil filter housing	*BA18.20-N-1006-01L
11	Remove coolant line (7) at oil filter housing (5).	Only for BlueTEC.
12	Pull out oil filter cover (6) with oil filter element (13).	 Installation: Replace O-ring (15). Check oil filter element (13) for damage and contamination; replace oil filter element (13) if necessary.
13	Remove oil filter element (13) from oil filter cover (6).	 Installation: For engine 904.9 up to engine end number 016109.Where the support dome in oil filter housing (5) has been changed, install the changed oil filter element (13) with a central opening. Otherwise, the engine will be damaged.
14	Check oil filter element (13) for damage and contamination.	If oil filter element (13) is dirty or damaged:
		
		Replace oil filter element (13).

15	Remove oil filter housing (5) from crankcase.	 Installation: Replace seal.
		 Bolt, oil filter housing to crankcase	*BA18.20-N-1001-01L
16	Remove pressure and temperature sensor (12) from oil filter housing (5).	Only in the event of a leak or when replacing oil filter housing (5) for engine 902.9, engine 904.9 up to engine end number 301576, engine 906.9 up to engine end number 301561, engine 926.9 up to engine end number 301561.
		 Bolt, combination sensor (temperature, pressure) to oil filter housing	*BA18.40-N-1004-01I
17	Install in the reverse order.
	Check
18	Start engine and run at idling speed.	 See information from body manufacturer. The oil pressure must have built up no later than 10 s after the start.
		If the oil pressure has not built up 10 seconds after the start:
		
		Switch off the engine and determine the cause.

19	Switch off engine and check in the area of oil filter housing (5) for leak tightness.	 Visual inspection.
20	Check and correct engine oil level.	 Check engine oil level after waiting at least 5 min. after switching off the engine.
