Risk of injury through clamping or squeezing the fingers while removing and installing and adjustment operations on hoods, doors, covers and a sliding roof

No parts of the body or limbs should be within the area of movement when moving components.

Risk of death due to slipping or tipping of the vehicle from the lifting platform

Align vehicle between the lifting platform columns and place the four support plates at the lifting platform support points specified by the automotive manufacturer.

Risk of explosion caused by escaping oxyhydrogen gas. Risk of injury caused by caustic burns to eyes, skin and mucous membranes from battery electrolyte (contains diluted sulfuric acid) or metal spatter due to short circuit. Risk of burn injuries caused by short circuit. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing battery electrolyte (contains diluted sulfuric acid) or absorption of lead over the skin or orifices

No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking.

Wear acid-resistant gloves and clothing and safety glasses with side guards.

Do not place any conductive objects on the battery and avoid any short circuit from battery positive to ground.

Only fill liquid battery electrolyte (diluted sulfuric acid) into suitable and appropriately marked containers.

 Insulate the ground line circuit to protect against unwanted contact of the removed ground line with the battery ground point.

Remove engine compartment paneling below

Screw down nut (3) from mounting clamp (5)

Unhook and remove shield (4) from mounting clamp (5) upwards

Remove protection against accidental contact for circuit 30 (1) electrical line from starter (M1)

Remove circuit 30 (1) electrical line on starter (M1)

 Nut for circuit 30 connection

Remove bolts (7) from starter (M1)

 Bolt for starter on crankcase

Remove circuit 50 (2) electrical line on starter (M1)

 Nut for circuit 50 connection

Bring starter (M1) downwards

Check sprocket on drive plate for wear and damage

 When replacing the starter (M1).

 Crank engine at the center bolt of the crankshaft in the direction of rotation of the engine.

Install in reverse order
