Remove/install

Unclip ME-SFI [ME] control unit and place to one side with connected lines

For removal of the right position sensor (11) of intake camshaft and the right position sensor (11) of exhaust camshaft

Remove screw/bolts (1) and take off vent line (2) at right cylinder head cover

For removing the right position sensor (11) of intake camshaft

 Bolt, vent line to cylinder head cover/turbocharger

Remove screw/bolts (3) and take off vent line (2) at left cylinder head cover

For removing the left position sensor (11) of intake camshaft

 Bolt, vent line to cylinder head cover/turbocharger

Remove screw/bolt (6)

For removing the right position sensor (11) of intake camshaft

Unclip vent line (2) at purge line (4) and engine wiring harness (5) and place to one side

For removing the right position sensor (11) of intake camshaft

Detach vent line (7) on right oil separator (8)

For removing the right position sensor (11) of exhaust camshaft

5.2

Detach vent line on left oil separator

For removing the left position sensor (11) of exhaust camshaft

Disconnect electrical connection (9) for respective position sensor (11)

Remove screw/bolt (10) of the respective position sensor (11) and remove respective position sensor (11) upwards

 Bolt, camshaft position sensor to cylinder head cover

Install in the reverse order

Read out fault memory using the diagnostic system and clear if necessary



Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Carry out an engine test run, checking the engine for proper operation and leaktightness
