| Removing and installing | ||
Danger! | Risk of burns and scalding while working on AdBlue pipes and components connected to them. Risk of injury on skin and eyes at contact with AdBlue. Risk of poisoning from swallowing AdBlue | Only catch AdBlue in appropriate containers. Only start working on the exhaust gas after-treatment system after relieving the pressure.
| Indications for applications, material properties and handling AdBlue | ||
1 | Disconnect the battery master switch
2 | Open the access cover to the AdBlue reservoir
Danger! | Risk of injuries to the skin and eyes, due to burns caused by vapor or overheated coolant. Poisoning risk due to coolant ingestion | Open the cooling system only when the temperature is below 90 °C. Open the cap slowly and let the excessive pressure out. Coolant should not be kept in beverage bottles. Use gloves, appropriate clothes and protective glasses.
3 | Relieve the cooling system pressure | Only on vehicles with AdBlue heating.
| Notes about the engine coolant | ||
4 | Remove cover (1). | Install Replace the wires plastic tier
5 | Open the insulation hoses (3,4) in a length of approx. 10 cm and displace it backwards
6 | Loosen the clamps of the cooling pipe (5) and of the AdBlue pipe (6) and detach the pipe openings | Repeat this work step on cooling pipe (8) and on AdBlue pipe (7).
| |||
7 | Loosen the electric connector (10) and remove the electric cable of the chassis frame | Install Replace the wires plastic tier
8 | Position the claw wrench (11) in the openings (13) of the closing ring (9)
9 | Position the lever (12) in the claw wrench (11) and rotate the closing ring (9) anticlockwise, until reaching the position "open" (A) | A high degree of force is applied in this task. The closing ring engages and disengages with the impact. Do not use an extension between the lever (12) and the claw wrench (9).
Installing: Turn the closing ring (9) clockwise until the engagement tabs (15) lock in the closing claws cavities.
10 | Remove the closing ring (9).
11 | Remove the combined level and temperature sensor of the AdBlue SCR (17) | Installing: With a clean and damp cloth, clean the contact surfaces of the O-ring (16). Replace the O-ring (16). Before installing, apply a thin coating of silicone grease on the O-ring (16).
Utilize as a sliding agent the prescribed MB silicone grease. The application of silicone grease has to be extremely moderate, otherwise damage may occur in the exhaust gas after-treatment system.
12 | Install in reverse order
13 | Check the tightness of the AdBlue pipes (6,7) and the coolant pipes (5,8) in the area of pipe connections | Only visual inspection. |
