2 | Remove the nut (13) and lift out the washer (14) | ||
3 | Remove the lock (11) of the ball joint terminal (10), remove it from the shaft control lever (7) and lift out the pneumatic cylinder (16) | ||
4 | Examine the engine brake mechanism for eventual wear. If necessary, repair it. | Radial play | |

5 | Remove the bolt (6) and lift out the control lever (7) from the shaft (1) | Mark the position of the command lever (7) on the axle (1). The slot in the shaft (1) is not to be used as assembly reference of lever (7). | |

7 | Remove the screws (5) and lift off the valve (throttle) (4) | ||
8 | With a suitable drift, press out the bushing (3B), removing simultaneously the shaft (1) and the bushing (3A) | ||

9 | With a suitable drift, press-in the rear bushing (3B), until obtaining measurement (B) of 2.6 mm between the bushing face and the flange of the outlet manifold (2) | Lubricate the bushing (3B). | |
10 | Press the shaft (1) and the bushing (3A) until obtaining the distance (A) between the bushings faces inside the flange and the shaft's axial clearance | The distance (A) will have to be centralized inside the flange. | |
Lubricate the bushing (3A). | |||
11 | Install the throttle valve (butterfly) (4) on shaft (1) | Pay attention so that the valve (4) is centralized in the diameter of the outlet manifold flange diameter. This centralization is obtained by the axial positioning of the bushings, whose penetration, inside the exhaust manifold must be equal on both sides. After tightening the bolts (5), make sure the butterfly valve (4) does not interfere with the flange (2). | |

13 | Install the control lever (7) on splines of shaft (1) | Pay attention to the marks made during disassembly. The slot in the shaft (1) is not to be used as assembly reference of lever (7). The lever (7) will be correctly positioned on shaft (1) when the adjustment value (C) is obtained. | |
14 | Tighten the bolt (6) | | |
15 | Install the pneumatic cylinder (16) on the articulation shaft (17) applying the washers (14) and the new nut (13) | Replace the nut (13). | |

16 | Adjust the assembly pre-load (E) of the pneumatic cylinder (16) | The pretension eliminates the vibrations caused by the valve (throttle)4, avoiding this way the premature wear of the engine brake set. | |
17 | Fit the ball joint terminal (10) on control lever (7) and secure it with the lock (11) | After the installation of the cylinder (16), check the length (D). | |
Lubricate the spheric terminal (10). | |||
