1 | Remove the outlet manifold with engine-brake device | ||
| Disassemble | ||
2 | Remove the lock (10) from the ball terminal (11) and disengage it from the axle control lever (16) | ||
3 | Remove the nut (15) and remove the washers (12). Then, remove the pneumatic cylinder (8) | ||
4 | Inspect the engine-brake device for eventual wearing. If necessary, replace it | Axial play. | |

5 | Release the bolt (17) and remove the axle control lever (16) | Mark the position of the control lever (16) in the engine-brake axle (2). | |
The groove existent in the axle (2) should not to be used as a reference to assemble the lever (16). | |||
6 | Remove the cylinder support (7) | ||
7 | Release the self-locking nut (5) and remove the bolt (3) that attaches the throttle valve (4) | ||
8 | Extract the engine-brake axle (2) | a copper pin, in order to not damage the splined end, or a press. Clean all the components. | |

9 | Assemble the rear bushing (6) in the outlet manifold (1) | Assemble a new bushing (6). | |
Apply high-temperature resistant grease in the rear bushing (6). | |||

10 | Assemble the engine-brake axle (2) | The throttle valve axle (A), the front bushing (B), the thrust ring (C) and the limiter (D) are supplied as a single part. If necessary, replace the complete assembly (2). | |
Apply high-temperature resistant grease in the axle assembly (2). | |||
11 | Correctly position the valve (4) and introduce the axle (2) so that the stopper (1) is between the axle levers (2) | The outlet manifold flange protrusion (6), must be guided in the same direction and the throttle closing. | |
Observe that the throttle is centralized in the flange diameter. This centralization will be obtained through the axial position of the bushings, that is: The bushing penetration inside the manifold must be equal in both sides. | |||

12 | Assemble the attachment bolt (3) together with the nut (5), attachment of the throttle valve (4) in the axle (2) | | |
13 | Assemble the lever (16) in the axle ribbed of the throttle valve (2) | The arks made in the disassembling must match, and check the lever inclination angle “E”. | |
14 | Assemble the bolt (17), the nut (18) and lock the lever (16) | ||
15 | Assemble the support (7) in the outlet manifold (1) and tighten the bolts (19) | | |
16 | Assemble the pneumatic cylinder (8) in the support (7) and install the washers (12) and the self-locking nut (15) | Install a new self-locking nut (15). | |

17 | Adjust the pneumatic cylinder (8) assembling prestress (D) | ||
18 | Install the ball terminal (11) in the control lever (16) and lock it | Apply high-temperature resistant grease in the ball terminal (11). | |
