Removing/installing

Remove upper bolts on heat shield (5)

 The heat shield (5) is fastened at the top with two screws.

Remove catalytic converter

Unscrew screws (3) and remove heat shield (2)

Remove exhaust manifold support (4)



Remove lower bolt on heat shield (5)

 The heat shield (5) is fastened at the bottom with one screw.

Lower vehicle

Take out heat shield (5)

Raise vehicle.

Unscrew nuts (6) on exhaust manifold (1)

 Replace nuts (6).

 Installation: Tighten the nuts (6) from inside to outside on the exhaust manifold (1).



Remove exhaust manifold (1) with gasket

 Installation: Clean sealing surfaces and replace gasket.

Install in reverse order

 Danger!

Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near engine

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not grasp hot or rotating parts.

Conduct engine test run and check exhaust system in the area of the exhaust manifold (1) for leaks
