8 | Swivel tensioning pulley of poly-V-belt tensioning device of generator (3) to the top and hold.
9 | Remove alternator (8) poly-V-belt from belt pulley/vibration damper (5) and remove from belt pulley (2, 6) | On vehicles with code(H03) Air conditioning in front end, additionally on the belt pulley of the refrigerant compressor (7).
Danger! | Risk of injury caused by pinching or crushing when working on springs or spring bodies that are under load | Only use approved tensioning devices; shield off hazard area if necessary.
10 | Swivel back tensioning pulley of poly-V-belt tensioning device of generator (3)
11 | Press fan with viscous fan clutch (9) to the front and take out Alternator poly-V-belt (8) | Do not damage the poly-V-belt of the alternator (8) while removing it.
| Checking | ||
12 | Check belt pulleys and tensioning pulleys for damage and smooth operation, replace if necessary
13 | Check the condition of the poly-V-belt of the alternator (8), replace it if required.
| Damage patterns for a poly-V-belt | ||
| Installing | ||
14 | Push fan with viscous fan clutch (9) to the front and alternator (8) poly-V-belt on the belt pulley/vibration damper (5) and lay on belt pulleys (2, 6) | On vehicles with code (H03) Air conditioning in front end, additionally on the belt pulley of the refrigerant compressor (7).
Observe poly-V-belt routing plan.
Danger! | Risk of injury caused by pinching or crushing when working on springs or spring bodies that are under load | Only use approved tensioning devices; shield off hazard area if necessary.
15 | Swivel tensioning pulley of poly-V-belt tensioning device of generator (3) to the top and hold.
16 | Fit Alternator poly-V-belt (8) onto the tensioning pulley of the poly-V-belt tensioning device of generator (3) and swivel back the tensioning device again | Ensure that the poly-V-belt of the generator (8) is seated correctly.
Danger! | Risk of injury caused by pinching or crushing when working on springs or spring bodies that are under load | Only use approved tensioning devices; shield off hazard area if necessary.
17 | Install poly-V-belt tensioning device for fan drive (1)
