 Warning

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear buttoned-up and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Ensure that no one is within the tilting range of the cab as it is being tilted. Always tilt the cab all the way to the end position and secure with the safety strut.

Remove/install

Open maintenance flap

Tilt cab

 Installation: Only tilt back cab after the leak test.

Remove soundproofing on frame at top right and below

Remove air intake hose (1) from intake manifold (3)

Loosen hose from resonator box (6) on intake manifold (3)

Detach crankcase ventilation hose from intake manifold (3)

Detach clamps (7) of oil pressure line for steering (8) and oil suction line for steering (9) from intake manifold (3)

 Do not disconnect the oil pressure line for steering (8) and oil suction line for steering (9).

Remove intake manifold (3) from bracket (5)

 Bolt, air intake pipe at bracket

Detach both connection pieces (2) at intake manifold (3) and at both turbochargers and push towards intake manifold (3) or respective turbocharger

 Installation: Clean sealing surfaces.

Take out intake manifold (3)

 Installation: Clean sealing surfaces.

Install in the reverse order

Start engine and afterwards allow the engine to run at alternating rpm. Check connection pieces (2) and intake manifold (3) for leaktightness, then switch off the engine

 Visual inspection.
