| Remove | ||
1 | Inspect basic position of camshafts
2 | Remove slide rail (1) at cylinder head
3 | Position piston of cylinder 1 to 30° after ignition TDC (position "B") | Rotate engine at crankshaft
4 | Remove chain tensioner (6)
5 | Remove exhaust camshaft sprocket (3) | It is only necessary to remove the exhaust camshaft sprocket in order to correct the basic position.
| |||
6 | Rotate camshafts into basic position and lock in place with locking pin (7) | Lift timing chain off inlet camshaft sprocket (5) for this step
| |||
7 | Move piston of cylinder 1 back to 20° after ignition TDC (position "C") | Pull timing chain (4) up tight at the inlet camshaft for this step.
| Install | ||
8 | Fit timing chain (4) onto inlet camshaft sprocket (5)
9 | Install exhaust camshaft sprocket (3) with timing chain (4) fitted on | Replace torx bolt (2).
