Remove radial shaft sealing ring (1)

Checking

Check contact surface of the radial shaft sealing ring (1) on the crankshaft flange or on the race

If there is galling on the crankshaft flange or on race:

Mount new race onto the crankshaft.

Install

Install radial shaft sealing ring (1)

New radial shaft sealing ring (1) on the outer surface dry and on the contact surface wetted with engine oil.

If a race is mounted on the crankshaft flange then a radial shaft sealing ring (1) with a large inside diameter must be installed.

Start engine and perform an engine test run

Stop engine and check the radial shaft sealing ring (1) for leaks

Visual inspection.
