Removing

Remove oil pan

Remove belt pulley for crankshaft

Detach cylinder head (2) and relieve timing case cover (1) through unscrewing the cylinder head bolt by about 5 revolutions

 The engine must remain supported by the right engine mount on the cylinder head (2) to remove the timing case cover (1). Before detaching the cylinder head bolts, the bolt (3) for the cylinder head (2) must be removed on the timing case cover (1).

Remove bolt (4) and remove bracket (5)



Remove screw/bolt (6) and remove alternator retaining bracket (7)

Remove screws/bolts (8)

Detach timing case cover (1) from cylinder crankcase (9) and take off

Clean sealing surfaces on timing case cover (1) and cylinder head (9)



Install

Replace crankshaft radial sealing ring (10)

Coat timing case cover with sealant (1), position timing case cover (1) and screw in screw/bolt (8)



Remove screw/bolt (11) for engine support (12) on cylinder head (2)

Remove cylinder head bolts and take off cylinder head (2)

 Keep timing chain under tension.

An assistant for guiding the tensioning rail and slide rail is required.

Take cylinder head gasket off crankcase (9)

Install cylinder head (2)
