Remove/install

No fires, sparks, open flames or smoking. Pour fuels into suitable and appropriately marked containers only.

Expose leak oil line (2) and fuel return line (3) at holder (4)

Remove screws/bolts (5) and remove bracket (4)

Move retaining clamp (6) on pressure line

Release and disconnect electrical connectors at fuel injectors (Y76/1, Y76/2, Y76/3)

Release cable duct (7) from mounts (arrows) at cylinder head cover (1) and set aside

Release retaining clip (8O2) of electrical wiring harness of lambda sensor upstream of catalytic converter at cylinder head cover (1)

Remove crankcase ventilation hose (9) at cylinder head cover (1)

Unscrew union nuts of pressure line (11) at high-pressure pump (13) and rail (12)

 Pressure line (11) can only be removed after removal of cylinder head cover (1).

Unscrew bolts at cylinder head cover (1)

 Cylinder head cover (1) is secured with eight bolts to cylinder head.

 Screw/bolt, cylinder head cover to cylinder head

Remove cylinder head cover (1) and unscrew cap (10)

 Installation: Replace cylinder head cover (1).

Guide out and remove pressure line (11) and remove retaining clamp at pressure line (11)

 Replace pressure line (11).

Install in the reverse order
