Remove/install

Remove cover from hand brake lever

Pull hand brake lever (2), press out spring clip (1) downwards and release hand brake lever (2)

Remove engine compartment cover

 See Operator's Manual

Remove cable tie (4) of the main wiring harness (5) at air filter box (3)

Installation: Install new tie straps.

Take ground strap (6) out of bracket

Remove CBS rear end

 On model 450.3 /4 with code L27, Canada, the CBS rear must be loosened and the side marker disconnected from the inside before removal.

Unscrew nuts (7) at left rear wheelhouse cover (8)

Pull out left rear wheelhouse cover (8)

Unscrew bolts (9) on air filter box (3) and pull out supply air guide (10)

Remove bulkhead wall

 On model 450.4 with code L27, Canada the bulkhead cannot be fully removed. Protect the bulkhead from falling using cable ties and ensure that the fuel hoses to the water separator are not damaged.

Unscrew bolt (11) of the folding clamp (12) and open folding clamp (12)

Unclip brake and rotational speed sensor line from folding clamp (12) and from bracket (13)

 On vehicles before the 11.9.00, the line to the separation point engine wiring harness must be additionally unhinged.

Position base jack with removal fixture (14) at rear drive module

Risk of damage at oil cooler, if necessary saw off angular bend as of lifter mounting.

 The base jacks from the companies Mazzola and AS Hydraulic can be used according to choice.

Unscrew front bolts (16) and rear bolts (15) on body

 The rear bolts (15) are longer.

Installation: Observe tightening sequence

(left front, right front, left rear and right rear)

The bolts at the front (16) and bolts at the rear (15) should be replaced when replacing the vehicle body.



Screw in release bolts into bore holes for bolts at the front (16) and bolts at the rear (15)

 Just screw in release bolt by hand up to threaded tappet, do not tighten, otherwise damage to the thread will occur.

 Screw in the two longer release bolts at the rear.

Slowly release rear drive module

 When lowering, ensure adequate distance between the intake air line (17) and air filter box (3).

On Engine 660.940 there must be enough available space between tank and frame-type integral support, if necessary slacken tank and press to the side.

On model 450.4 pay attention to clearance of brake lines and brake hoses.
