Park the vehicle on a flat location and shim the wheels

 Mechanically release the parking brake only if it is necessary to perform repairs or to move the vehicle in case of emergency.

 Warning

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Run engine until service pressure is attained in the brake pneumatic system.

Release the parking brake

Unscrew the relieve bolt up to stopper and then screw it in again up to the stopper.

 Vehicle should not be placed in normal operation when parking brake is mechanically disengaged.

 The relief bolt must easily turn.

 Do not use automatic electric screwdrivers for this operation.

After having repaired the compressed air system, place the combination cylinder (1) in operating condition.

 Pressurizing the cylinder through the connection (12), the relief bolt can be manually threaded.
