Drain

Clean area around oil filler screw (1), oil drain screw (2 and 6) and screw plug (3) on transmission housing

 Only change the oil when the transmission is at operating temperature.

Remove oil filler screw (1)

Remove oil drain screw (2) and drain transmission oil

 Allow the transmission oil to drain completely from the transmission. Use suitable vessel to collect gear oil. In the event of an inaccessible oil drain screw (2), the gear oil can be drained at the oil drain screw (6).

Remove threaded plug (3).

 The screw plug (3) is spring-loaded.

Remove oil strainer (4) with compression spring (5)

Clean oil strainer (4)

 Check oil strainer (4) for damage, replace if necessary

Install oil strainer (4) with compression spring (5)

 When installed the lugs on the oil strainer (4) must face towards the screw plug (3).

Screw in screw plug (3).

 Replace sealing ring.

Screw in oil drain screw (2) and oil drain screw (6)

 Replace sealing ring.

Filling

Pour in transmission oil up to lower edge of hole for oil filler screw (1)

 Observe Specifications for Operating Fluids:





Screw in oil filler screw (1).

 Do not yet tighten the oil filler screw (1) to the prescribed tightening torque. Just tighten far enough to ensure that gear oil does not flow out during the engine test run.

 Danger!

Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Start engine, run for approx. 2 minutes and switch off again



Check

Unscrew oil filler screw (1) and check oil level, correct if necessary

 Observe Specifications for Operating Fluids:





Screw in oil filler screw (1).

 Replace sealing ring.
