Remove the drain plug (3) and drain the lubricating oil

 Only drain the engine oil with heated engine at the work temperature.

Install the drain plug (3)

 Replace the draining plug sealing ring (3).

Fill crankcase through the filler neck (2) until the maximum oil level is reached on dipstick (1)

 On engines 377.983 - model 695.3, filler neck is located on head end cover.

Run the engine at idle speed observing the oil pressure indicator


Do not accelerate the engine until oil pressure is shown on the indicator. The pressure must be reestablished in approximately 10 seconds.
Otherwise damages may occur.

 Do not start the vehicle continuously more than 10 seconds. If the engine does not start during this interval, wait approximately 30 seconds and start it again.

 Test the oil filter and the crankcase oil drain plug sealing.

Stop the engine

Control the lubricant oil level for 5 minutes after having stopped the engine

 If necessary, fill it up, use same brand and type of existing oil, until max level is reached (D).
The oil level should be checked with the vehicle parked on level ground.
The oil level can never surpass the max level reference (D) on the dipstick (1).
