B Wear to flanks: Poly-V are pointed (new: trapezoidal)
C Cords are visible at the base of the poly-V-belts (lighter points)
D Transverse cracks across the back
E Poly-V released from base of the poly-V-belt (arrow)
F Fraying of outer cords
G Cord torn out at the side
H Transverse cracks in several poly-V
J Poly-V-belt chippings
K Single poly-V transverse cracks.
L Dirt or stones embedded in ribs
M Rubber lumps in base of poly-V

1 | Withdraw ignition key | ||
2 | Open engine hood | ||
Danger! | Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. | Align vehicle between the columns of the lifting platform and position the four support plates below the hoist support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. | |
3 | Raise vehicle. | ||
4 | Check the splines for wear and damage by rotating the engine at the center bolt of the crankshaft in the engine's direction of rotation. | Make a chalk mark as a reference point at poly-V-belt. | |
