Remove

Remove paneling on center piece in front of the windshield

Slacken screw (1)

Remove coolant compressor poly-V belt

Loosen nut (2)

Slacken poly-V belt (4) by turning bolt (3)

Remove poly-V belt (4)



Install

Check poly-V belt (4) for damage and wear; replace if necessary

Fit on poly-V belt (4)

Tension poly-V belt (4) by turning bolt (3) and check tension using a belt tension measuring device (5)

 Observe instruction manual from manufacturer of the belt tension measuring device (5).

Lead measuring head (6) through the access opening in the fender liner (7) and only use in the area shown (arrow).

Adjustment value for first mounting of the poly-V belt (4): 308 Hz to 344 Hz.

Adjustment value for remounting of the poly-V belt(4): 231 Hz to 255 Hz.

Tighten nut (2)

 Install new self-locking nut (2).



Install poly-V belt for refrigerant compressor

 Do not check voltage of poly-V belt for refrigerant compressor.

 Danger!

Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running

Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Carry out engine test run

Raise vehicle

Check tension of poly-V belt (4)

 Observe instruction manual from manufacturer of the belt tension measuring device (5).

Lead measuring head (6) through the access opening in the fender liner (7) and only use in the area shown (arrow).

Adjustment value for first mounting of the poly-V belt (4): 308 Hz to 344 Hz.

Adjustment value for remounting of the poly-V belt(4): 231 Hz to 255 Hz.
