1 | Place steering column in the central height position | MODEL 453 | |
2 | Disconnect ground line at the on-board electrical system battery | ||
3 | Insert suitable tool into opening at markings (3) at left and right on steering wheel cover (4) and the push retaining clips (6) inward | The opening at the markings (3) of the steering wheel cover (4) must be pierced the first time the airbag unit on the steering wheel (1) is removed. | |
Installation: The retaining clips (6) of the airbag unit on the steering wheel (1) must latch audibly into the steering wheel (2). | |||
4 | Remove airbag unit on steering wheel (1) far enough from steering wheel (2) until electrical connector (5) is accessible | ||
5 | Disconnect electrical connector (5) and remove airbag unit (1) from steering wheel (2) | If the airbag unit on the steering wheel (1) is replaced, the defective airbag unit (1) must be properly disposed of. | |
6 | Install in the reverse order | ||
